Giving Back to the Local Community
Clear Vision Window Cleaning is a patron of The Knights Foundation and has been for the last 4 years. The Anthony Knights Foundation Trust offer gifts and help to carers & families managing disabilities throughout their everyday life.
We provide commercial cleaning services to the Lodge, an accessible & luxurious property in Milford on Sea at no charge to the charity. The Lodge is amenable for those with restricted abilities to enjoy stress-free family holidays and have the use of a facility, free of charge, to allow them to do this. This dream was made reality in September 2019 when they purchased The Knights Foundation Lodge.
Did you know that when booking disabled accommodation, families might find that they have inflated prices due to the ‘different requirements’ and possible additional space they may need. Perhaps the accommodation is pushed out on the periphery of the resort, away from others, or indeed that the standard of the accommodation has been compromised because a wet room or a ramp was needed, most disabled families just accept this because they need the accessibility. The Lodge is situated at Shorefield Holiday Park, Milford-On-Sea, in the New Forest, right by the beach – a fabulous location!
The park itself boasts fantastic entertainment with a showbar, restaurant, ice cream parlour, arcade and convenience store. The swimming pool has a beach entry pool (zero entry) and a new ‘Changing Places’ facility. There is a gym and health spa located on the first floor of the main building, which has a stairlift for access.
The Lodge is both spacious and luxurious, allowing for extra space needed for wheelchairs. There is a wide ramped access with a large composite decking area, fabulous outside furniture, and ramped access into the Lodge. The decking is apparently the largest on the site, which shows how much Shorefield have got behind this venture and are making it everything that is needed for these special families!
The single bedroom has a ‘Gatch’ profiling bed, with a state-of-the-art hoist system fitted. The main bathroom has been adapted into a wet room, with the same hoist system as the bedroom, handrails and a shower chair/commode. There is also a double bedroom with an en suite and a twin bed.
The Knights Foundation also provide support, sensory experiences and equipment to disabled children, seriously ill children and their families. It is also their aim to get to know more about these children and young carers and what they can provide to support them in their role. This support is also offered to those who may be restricted from having a good or happy life.
The Knights Foundation’s supporters – staff, trustees, patrons, donors and volunteers are passionate about making a difference in lives and are keen to understand more about how they can help others who need their support and identify resources that can also help with everyday living for these people.
The trust is driven by ex-Saints FC player Nicky Banger, CEO and their Board of Trustees, with the support of the Sub-Committees, each in their own specialist areas.
Nicky Banger is the father of a child with a disability; his beautiful daughter Sophia has cerebral palsy. Nicky, his wife, son and Sophia all know how tiring it is when having to rely on or care for someone day in and day out.
As patrons of The Knights Foundation Clear Vision not only clean the lodge on a weekly basis at no charge to the charity but also sponsor an annual charity golf day which is usually held in May. This year we raised over £10K alone for such a worthy cause! “We believe in giving back to the local community in any way we can, and we couldn’t ask to support a more deserving charity,” says Tony, the Director of Clear Vision Window Cleaning.
