How Do you Make Pure Water For Window Cleaning?

Here at Clear Vision, we pride ourselves on a professional window cleaning service. We use pure water to get to those tricky places that are hard to get to. We have a bespoke service that is tailored to meet your business demands and needs.  We clean the windows by using a pure water solution that leaves your windows spotless. But you might be wondering how to make your own window cleaning solution. This article will help you explain how to do it.

Pure water is beneficial because it is eco friendly, and delivers superior results. Our Reach & Wash system means that you will be able to get to those tough spots without risking your safety. The pure water we use in this offers a chemical solution which leaves your windows streak free and spotless for many years to come.

Although you can make the solution yourself, at Clear Vision, we can do this for you, and use it to clean your windows to the highest standards.

The first thing you will have to do before making the pure water solution is to test how hard the water is in your area. Fill up a glass of water from your tap and then insert a TDS metre in the glass. This will help you find out the result quickly, so you can get to work. If the metre reads at about 20 or below, then you have soft water in the area, which means you only need a DI vessel and resin to make the solution. The water connects to the DI vessel, and the resin filters all the chemicals out and releases purified water at the other end. It is important to know that water has to measure at 0.07. Otherwise, this will result in spotting.

If, however, the tap water measures above 150, you live in a hard water area, meaning the water has a lot of salt and minerals in it. In order to prevent this, you will need a Reverse Osmosis System, which filters the water through, taking away any contaminations. After this, the water will need to be tested again to see if it goes below 0.07. If it doesn’t, then use the DI Vessel alongside the Reverse Osmosis System to bring the TDS down.

When making pure water, it is important to consider what set up is right for you. At Clear Vision, we store pure water in a storage tank. An IBC tank contains 1000 litres; then, we pump it to the van by using a submersible pump. To get a strong amount of water, it is essential to purchasing a pump that is at least 750/1150w, along with a hose that will fill it up quickly.

Having a Reverse Osmosis System in your van has many benefits for professional window cleaners. It means you can fill the tank up with normal water as long as there is a water supply nearby, increasing your water supply for longer. It also means you won’t have to worry about running out of water.

If your budget doesn’t allow a Reverse Osmosis System, then the easiest method is to buy pure water from a filling station. A filling service provides a self service system which makes it easy to fill your tank up. It is cheap and affordable, so that you will benefit from an easy service.

After you have the solution, you will need to scrub the window with a water fed pole and brush to loosen the dirt around the window. It needs to be rinsed thoroughly from the window because the window will be cleaner. What’s more, it is safer to clean from the ground because you don’t need to use a ladder, and there is less risk of property damage. The best way to rinse the window is to clean from the top and then move from left to right, resulting in a cleaner finish in the long run.

Cleaning with pure water is an eco friendly method because you don’t need to use chemicals or soap either. This will result in a cleaner service, while the customer doesn’t need to worry about it being visible from the upstairs windows.

You can simply make pure water at home by boiling it and heating it over a full frame. The longer it takes to boil, the purer it will become. Another solution you can consider is purchasing a commercial filter, such as a portable one that you can use in an emergency or systems that can be hooked up to your faucet.  They are available in different sizes or shapes, while the water is pushed through a charcoal or ceramic filter then chemically treated.

Although you can make pure water yourself, we will do the hard work for you at Clear Vision. However, If you want to find out more about purified water or our window cleaning solutions, fill out our online contact form or call us on 0800 567 7169. Our friendly team will be happy to assist you.
